BRNB is an independent IT consultancy in Lancashire, trading since 2023. We advise on strategy, build websites and software, and run the hosting underneath them.
The practice
Who you are dealing with
The practice is led by Brad, who takes the first call, scopes the work and leads the build. Specialists come in alongside him on the larger projects, to the same scope and the same handover rules. More than twenty years across IT consulting, software development and project management sits behind the work.
We resell nothing. No hardware margins, no software commissions, no referral fees from the suppliers we assess. That is a commercial decision with a practical consequence: the recommendation to spend nothing is one we can afford to make, and often do.
Four services, and no ambition to add a fifth. They inform each other: the advice is better for having built the systems, and the builds are better for having argued about the strategy first.
What to expect
How an engagement runs
The same four stages whether the work is a week of advice or a six-month build.
- 01
A first conversation
Half an hour, no charge, no obligation at the end of it. You describe what has prompted this and we say whether we are the right people. If not, we point you somewhere sensible.
- 02
A written scope and a fixed quote
Before anything starts you get the shape of the engagement in writing: what we will do, what we will not, and what it costs. The quote is agreed first, and the invoice matches it.
- 03
Weekly progress, in plain English
A short written update every week while work is live, in language you can forward to a board without translating it. If scope needs to change we raise it and agree it before it moves.
- 04
Handover, and the right to leave
At the end you get the code, the credentials, the accounts and documentation your own team can work from. Nothing we build depends on us to keep running, and nothing about the arrangement makes leaving expensive.
Limits
What we are not for
We are the right practice for websites, internal tools, hosting, and the IT decisions around them. We are the wrong one for a two-hundred-seat support contract or a round-the-clock service desk. If that is what your organisation needs, we will say so on the first call and point you somewhere sensible.
Knowing what we are not for is most of why the things we are for go well.
