Small Business Website Design

Small Business Website Design and Build

Small business website design from a two-person Lancashire studio. We design it, write it with you, build it in WordPress, and then (this is the unusual bit) hand the whole thing over: admin access, hosting access, source files, documentation.

It's your website. You shouldn't need our permission to use it. From £4,000, live in six to eight weeks.

Included

What's included in every build

A website isn't finished when the design looks nice. Every build includes the following four things that usually turn up later as separate invoices:

01

The words

We write the copy with you, page by page. You know your business; we know what a page needs to say to rank and to convert. Nobody ends up staring at a blank template wondering what goes in the box.

02

The SEO

Meta tags, redirects, sitemap, schema, Search Console. The technical checklist most builds skip, done before launch rather than sold to you afterwards.

03

The training

A handover session and written documentation. Our clients genuinely update their own sites after we've gone. That's the standard we build to.

04

The numbers

Privacy-friendly analytics installed and explained, so you can see what's working without bolting a consent banner the size of a paragraph onto every page.

Ownership

You own all of it

Plenty of agencies keep a polite grip on your website. The hosting is theirs, the licences are theirs, the admin login you were never quite given is theirs. Then the relationship ends, and your own website becomes a negotiation. We've rescued enough locked-in sites to know exactly how that story goes.

So we do the opposite. At handover you get admin access, hosting access, the source files and the documentation. Everything. If you never call us again, the site carries on working and you can take it anywhere.

We think that's the strongest reason people do call us again. If you'd rather not manage it yourself, we offer an optional care plan and managed hosting, but they're choices, not conditions.

Performance

Built to pass Google's tests

Every small business website we build is checked against Core Web Vitals (Google's published standards for loading speed and stability) before it launches. Not for the badge. Slow sites lose visitors before the page finishes loading, and Google quietly ranks them lower.

We test on a real phone, on mobile data, because that's where your customers are, not on an office machine with fibre.

Process

How it works

Six to eight weeks from first call to launch, in four stages. You'll know which stage you're in at all times, because we'll tell you, weekly, in plain English.

01

A free call

You tell us what the website needs to do, not what it should look like, what it needs to do. We tell you what that costs and how long it takes. Fixed quote before anything starts.

02

Design and words

We design the pages and write the copy with you at the same time, so the design fits what's actually being said. You see it and steer it before anything is built.

03

The build

We build it in WordPress, on a private link you can poke at while we work. Weekly updates, no surprises, no 'big reveal' at the end.

04

Launch and handover

We launch it, run the technical checklist, then hand over the lot: logins, files, documentation, and a training session for whoever's updating it.

Pricing

What a small business website costs

Small business website builds start at £4,000. What moves the number is scope: how many pages, whether you're selling online, what needs building beyond the standard (booking, members' areas, integrations), and how much of the content already exists.

You get a fixed quote after the free call, before any work starts, and the quote is the price. If it takes us longer than we estimated, that's our problem, not yours.

No care plan required, no hosting tie-in, no surprise invoices in month three. The £4,000 buys a finished, handed-over website, not a subscription to us.

Fit

Who this is for

01

You're starting properly

First real website, and you'd rather do it once than do it twice. You want it to rank, convert and not embarrass you in two years.

02

You've outgrown the DIY site

The site you built one weekend has done its job, but it's now the worst salesperson in the company.

03

You're locked out of your own site

The agency owns the hosting, the developer's stopped replying, and nobody has the passwords. We've untangled this before.

04

You sell online

Products, bookings or payments: we build e-commerce websites on the same own-it-outright terms.

Local

Website design across Lancashire

We're based in Lancashire and most of our clients are too. If you're searching locally, these pages cover what we do near you:

Not in Lancashire? The work travels fine: design reviews and training happen perfectly well on a video call.

Why us

Why choose us to build it?

BRNB is Brad and Nicole. The person on your first call designs the site, writes the words with you, builds it and trains your team. Nothing is handed to a junior you've never met, because there isn't one.

Everything included

Copy, SEO, training, analytics: in the price, not on the next invoice.

A fixed quote that doesn't move

Agreed before we start, and it is the price you pay.

A real handover

Files, access, documentation. Yours, whether you call us again or not.

Weekly updates in plain English

You'll never wonder what's happening, because we tell you every week.

Real example

We rebuilt a medical association's website with a self-service member portal. Members manage their own details now, and membership searches return them in the top three results. This has increased the success of dues payments, reduced administrative overheads, and simplified the operations of the medical association.
